I remember the horror, the horror of trying to sign up for the very first version of ACA, the one our Mr Obama took so much heat for. That first site crashed and was an awful mess. I still have three logins dating from my attempts to score my first Obamacare policy.
It’s gotten a lot easier and better since then, thanks to constant improvements executed under the Obama administration, and despite this administration’s effort to sabotage the law.
My suspicion is that the civil servants actually running the program take pride in their program and have done their best to improve the systems despite interference from above.
Last year I was a Florida resident — this year moved to Louisiana — and my experience with healthcare.gov was the best ever. I went from beginning my application through completion and acceptance, paying my first premium. I qualified for a subsidy which allowed me to purchase a $896 monthly policy for $396. This is $200/mo less than I paid last year in Florida. Yay Obamacare!
If you’ve had a successful time with ACA, tell us about it here! I really think some good news on Obama’s signature accomplishment would be a nice antidote to all the circular firing squads…..
